Overview

The $BJORN Token is our in-game token. It is exclusively minted by players who own a land (or have access to a free trial land) and actively play the game.

Players use it for all kinds of things: crafting, trading, tools and more! $BJORN is what powers a significant portion in-game economy of My Neighbor Alice.

$BJORN exists so that anyone can play the game, even players that don't hold $ALICE! It helps guarantee a smooth gameplay, so that My Neighbor Alice stays fun and sustainable.

How to get $BJORN

At some point early in the tutorial, a new NPC called Oli will permanently appear on the land of players. You will only see him if you own the land!

Say hello to Oli!

Oli will appear on every single land! This means he will give Free $BJORN and Quests for every land a player owns, increasing potential $BJORN gained!

Players can talk to Oli at any time to access the following options:

  • Free Daily $BJORN: Gives some free $BJORN, no questions asked. Come back daily for more!

  • Daily Quests: Oli will provide simple quests every day - complete them to get more $BJORN!

  • Buildings & Upgrades: Players can optionally get permanent buildings which provide a lot more $BJORN via specialized quests.

Talking to Oli

Free Daily $BJORN

Once players have unlocked Oli, they immediately have access to Free $BJORN which can be claimed repeatedly. Players don’t have to complete any quests to get these $BJORN, they simply need to log into the game, travel to their Land and and claim the BJORN by talking to the NPC.

Don't forget to claim these $BJORN daily and to travel to each of the lands you own!

Daily Quests

Oli will also provide players with daily quests.

Here Oli provides four different quests, three of them are exclusive to Buildings!

These daily quests are randomly generated, so be sure to keep some resources handy to be able to complete them!

Skipping Daily Quests

If you don't like a quest, you can skip or abandon it to generate a new one. Keep in mind you will have to wait for the regular cooldown before it becomes available!

$BJORN Buildings

Buildings are permanent! You will keep your buildings after the Season ends, even if you have a Free Trial Land!

Buildings count per Land! This means that every land can have buildings, no matter what. Even if a player owns multiple lands, they can have buildings on each land.

Oli allows you to construct permanent buildings on your Land! These buildings are tied to land - they are "Permanent Land Upgrades" in a sense.

Each of the buildings represents a specialization:

  • Farmer's Cottage 🌱: provides farming-related quests.

  • Fishing Hut 🐟: provides fishing-related quests.

  • Worker's Shed ⛏️: provides crafting-related quests.

This means that building, for example, the farmer's cottage, will provide players permanently with more farming daily quests. These building quests also provide way more $BJORN when completed!

Building Upgrades

Every building comes in various tiers (upgrade levels).

Upgrading buildings provides the following benefits:

  • Upgraded Visuals 👀: Higher-tier buildings generally look more advanced and visually impressive!

  • Higher Tier Quests 📜: Each tier unlocks another daily quest, each with more $BJORN rewards!

  • More Durability ⚒️: Buildings get more durable, meaning they need to be repaired less!

  • Reduced Repair Cost 🔨: It gets cheaper to repair higher-tier buildings!

The combination of these benefits means that upgrading both reduces the repair cost and increases total durability, which means it’s efficient to upgrade to maximize $BJORN gain long-term.

A land with the Fishing Hut on Tier 2 will have two fishing quests, every day!

Repairing Buildings

Remember that upgrading buildings reduces the repair cost and increases total durability!

Only repair buildings when they are at 0 durability - otherwise, you will waste precious $ALICE!

Each specialized daily quest that is completed will cost some durability. Once the durability reaches zero, no new quests for that building are generated! You have to repair the building to get quests for that building again.

$ALICE spent repairing is not refundable.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've run out of $BJORN, what should I do?

You can either sell some items for $BJORN on the Market or wait until Oli has some free $BJORN for you again!

For the future, always keep an eye on your $BJORN balance! Make sure to keep a few tokens around for when you need them!

Do I keep the buildings after Beta Season 2?

Yes, buildings are permanent. You will keep them.

I have a Free Trial, do I also keep the buildings?

Yes, you will keep the buildings. In this case, since the land is temporary, you will get an item that you can redeem next season on a new land to have access to your building again.

Do I have to get the Buildings?

No, buildings are totally optional! They are for players who want to get more $BJORN, faster. You can play the game by just getting free $BJORN every day from Oli!
