🤖Bots & Fair Play in My Neighbor Alice

Why this matters

In My Neighbor Alice, we’re building more than a game; we’re building a living world powered by real players, real creativity, and real interactions.

As our ecosystem grows, so do the challenges that come with it. One of them is the presence of bots.

This document explains how we approach automation, what we’re doing about it, and what you can expect moving forward.

What is a bot?

A bot is an automated program or script that plays the game instead of a human.

Bots are not unique to My Neighbor Alice; they exist across most online games. And in games with open economies, where in-game activity can translate into real-world value, they tend to appear more frequently.

Some bots are used with the intention of extracting value from the game. Others are used by players trying to speed up their progress.

But regardless of intent, they create an uneven playing field — and that’s something we actively work to prevent.

Our stance: Humans come first

At its core, My Neighbor Alice is about:

🌸 Self-expression 🤝 Social interaction 🏝️ Community

We believe the game should reward players who:

  • Actually play

  • Explore the world

  • Complete tasks themselves

  • Interact with others

  • Build meaningful experiences

Not scripts. Not automation. Not shortcuts.

That’s why our priority is simple: Design a game where real players win.

How we’re tackling bots (today)

Instead of relying on a single solution, we take a design-driven approach.

This means we shape the game itself in a way that naturally limits the impact of bots.

What does that look like?

  • Less weight on easily automated actions Tasks like basic social media interactions (which are easier for bots) now have reduced impact in campaigns and rewards.

  • More weight on real gameplay Activities that require human input, decision-making, and creativity are prioritized.

  • Smarter reward structures Campaigns and airdrops are designed so that meaningful participation matters more than repetitive automation.

This approach is already showing results: Real players are increasingly outperforming automated accounts in recent campaigns.

This is an ongoing battle

Let’s be real for a second. Botting is not something you “solve” once and forget.

As technology evolves, bots become more sophisticated; and so do we.

We are currently in an early but active phase, where we are:

  • Analyzing gameplay data and player behavior

  • Identifying patterns across systems and events

  • Iterating on mechanics and reward structures

And most importantly: Rolling out improvements step by step.

What comes next

As My Neighbor Alice grows, so will our tools and systems.

Our long-term approach includes:

  • More advanced detection and prevention systems

  • Game design that further favors human skill and engagement

  • Continuous balancing of rewards and progression systems

These changes won’t happen overnight — but they will happen consistently.

The bottom line

We hear you. We see the issue. And we’re on it.

  • ✔️ We are aware of bot activity

  • ✔️ We are already addressing it through game design

  • ✔️ We will continue evolving systems to favor real players

  • ✔️ We are building stronger, long-term solutions as the ecosystem grows

Our goal is simple:

Make My Neighbor Alice a place where playing for real always beats playing with bots.
